American Air Orders 50 New Airbus Long-Range Jets to Replace Aging Boeing Fleet

American Airlines has ordered a new long-range version of the Airbus A321. The airline already flies older versions of the jet, like the one pictured here. American Airlines

Skift Take: American Airlines needs a replacement for its Boeing 757s flying longer routes, and while Boeing eventually may make something, nothing appears imminent as it prioritizes 737 Max damage control. So American went with Airbus. This will limit room for Boeing’s expected push into midrange aircraft.
